What I noticed when I did a 106 kit to my 96 in. with 585 cams ,new lifters and push rods was all the upper end noise was gone. Now a year later it is still as quiet.
.I used S&S compression relief cams.
Power Commander, Headers, Screaming Eagle Lifters, 585 Cams and tuning were the majority of what's up for grabs here.
The fuel management and headers were done before the cams and when the lifters & cams were done I very quickly noticed a couple things...
I don't want to say what I noticed from the cam work and instead would like to hear from you who have gone with these. . .
I'll happily spill the beans on where I'm at now but just want to here everyone's objective experiences before I share mine.
Thanks in advance for your input ~
I have the S&S 585C easy start in my 2009 with a 106 hot set big bore kit. With stock heads. The cams give a very flat Dyno performance. How well does my bike do on the street? Well, keep in mind I went from a 96 engine. Torque is strong all the way to red line and shifting is smooth.

Plus 1 for a quite top end. I also have the S&S 106 Hot set with the 585C cams. I also added the SE cam plate with high flow oil pump and SE rockers for better oil flow in the top end. The heads are stock. The bike starts up fine but needs a few minutes of warm up.
