Default Did It AGAIN....

So on 7/18/2007 I bought my 2007 H/D StreetGlide. I have been riding a 2005 BMW R1200RT since June 2005.
I sold my 02 EGC to buy the BMW.
Well after riding my SG for 3 weeks, today I signed the papers on a brand new 08 FLTHCU...[8D]
Yes. I`m keeping my SG....The BMW has been kicked to the curb.....
I can`t wait to pick it up and ride it home....It`s Dark Blue Pearl...[sm=biker.gif]

Good for you. Must be nice to own two Harley's. LOL Have fun, and let us know which bike get the most use, for you. Since they are similar, I am wondering which one you will favor.

I don`t think I would call it the best anymore. This new 96 CI motor with the 6 speed works better.
I ride my beemer and it fells buzzy....The H-D runs 2800 RPM`s at 80 MPH, it`s smooth and has great passing power.
The beemer runs 4200 RPM`s @ 78 MPH and vibrates the bars and foot pegs to the point my hands get tingling andnumb.
So if the SG make the beemer feel buzzy, I can imagine what the EGU will make it feel like....[8D]
The beemer has been a very good bike....,but the front brake rotor`s have been an issue since day one. They replaced everything at 28000 miles and now at 45000 they shudder like a ***** in church again. I`m not hard on the brakes and use 70 rear brake, but this front brake system is junk. The trans output and shift-shaft seals started leaking at 28000 miles and the trans gets hard to shift in slow traffic. I like the bike, but not that much. I`m sure the H-D will have small issues as well, but I`m willing to suffer them....

Wow, you must have owned a Monday morning BMW. I will agree that my 2007 Road King is smoother in the handlebars than my 2000 R1100RT at highway speed, but the amount of vibration on the BMW is almost negligible. If I were given the assignment of riding, say, 600 miles in a day in any weather I would take the BMW, no question. The Road King is more fun, though. I've never had any significant issues with the BMW, though I only have about 33,000 miles on it. The vibration usually has something to do with throttle body synchronization . . . But this is an H-D forum, so I'll just say I'm glad you bought something you like

Congrats on the new Harley....must be nice having two rides like that. You're a richer man than I. I'm lucky to have two clean pairs of underwear to get me through the week let alone having to choose which bike to ride to work.

Looks like you're going to have a great collection DrD.
Couldn't quite look up what a "FLTHCU" is so I suppose youordered au Ultra Classic EG which really is a "FLHTCU" and besides is going to make an awesome duo.
Do let us know the differences similarities between the two though as they do seem like similar machines in so many ways. Enjoy and I look forward to hearing some feedback from you.
