Merry Christmas all. I just had a set of Enforcers paint matched to my ‘08 Anniversary Ultra. I know the front will bolt on but the rear is too wide. Can I swap on the ‘09 swing arm or will the rest of the driveline be misaligned?
I don't believe that would work. For one the '09 frame and swing are wider than the '08. So even if you could fab the swing arm to fit you'll have a problem with lining up the suspension and drive belt. You might be able to find one to fit from after market shops.
I'm not sure if it'll work or make a difference or not. Take a look at a swingarm from an 08 cvo road king. It's the old frame but it has a 170mm rear tire, should be able to fit a 180mm. Again not sure I'd It's a solution but something to look at anyway...good luck. You might want to reach out to dawg...hes an interchange guru.
Well, here is the thing… when I looked into it there were a lot of parts that are 08 up that interchange. I know that the 08 is a bastard year for the frame but didn’t know HD kept the narrow swing arm.
Thanks for the encouragement 🤠
looks like they did a nice job. maybe you shoulda made sure that they would fit first?
skratch was just pointing out the obvious lesson to be learned here.... a lesson most who modify their bikes have learned.... and it can be an expensive lesson...
When I used to work on my boats, I'd often ask an old Captain on my dock if I could do this or I could do that... His answer was always the same, "Sure, you can do anything if you have enough time and enough money...."
Those wheels look great, and they would look great on your bike.... BUT... You're lookin into a rabbit hole, make sure you do your research before you jump into the rabbit hole with both feet...
While using those wheels may be possible, not everyone has the resources, or can pay for someone who does, to accomplish this task....
Good luck and be sure to post up if you get it done...

Don't tale it personal ... Make it a "Lesson Learned" ... Hang around and you'll be surprised what you'll pick up :>)
The 09 up will fit if you trim the end that goes to the transmission.
Then weld in some plate steel so it is flat in that area.
This will allow the arm to fit, but you will have to modify the fender to fit the tire as well. I did mine like Timberland did, it is still close since our 08 down frame is only 8" wide. I also had to trim some of my side cover away since the 09 up swing arm is bulky.
This is the rear of my 1999 Ultra
