Not to hijack the thread or anything, But, has anyone installed the Alloy Art inner Fairing Braces??
My '04 batwing fairing shakes like a *****, and I suspect that broken inner braces are the culprit
I've heard mixed reviews on installing the Alloy Arts, like poor directions, and having to totally remove the fairing to install, someone said they had to relocate a clutch cable, not sure why, but I cannot locate any install videos on YouTube.
They don't look all that complex, but I may be missing something.

I don't imagine it would be difficult to repair a broken fairing brace by welding back together. Was this, or has this been a common problem?

I did a few years ago. HD has/had an updated version and I should have gone that route --
The brackets from Alloy Art have a good reputation, but if you can make a pretty basic repair on your own, it'll save you some beer/gas money.
I recently found that one of mine was cracked, so I used some scrap material to bend/make a splint and riveted it back together. It should be fine until I have to take it off the next time, where I'll inspect and replace if needed.
HD offers a better engineered horizontal brace. I bought them like 10 years ago, $15 a pair. With that brace and new speakers with a big magnet, you could have a tough fit
