Is it better to have better shocks or better oil...
i presume you are asking about better shocks versus replacing the oil in the HD oem air shocks I have read several riders feedback stating that heavier oil made a tremendously positive improvement in the oem air shocks, and there are YouTube videos on how to do that.
Now, I would still offer that replacing the oem air shocks with a high quality coil over shock will still yield the best results, and provide the best ride quality, but, there are riders out there who are satisfied with the oem shocks with oem weight oil, as well as riders who are satisfied with the oem shocks with replaced heavier oil. As one rider stated, Showa made them serviceable for a reason.
the cost of replacing the oil is negligible as I understand it, if you wanted to give it a shot.
