I posted in the trips but just in case Leaving for AZ GC Flag Area next week Yeah I know but its a dry heat,Will we need any warm clothes for the rides in the AM &PM up near the canyon?thanks southerlytide
Low temps will be high 40's to mid 50's, warming to the high 80's.Make sure you have rain gear, long sleeve shirts and sun screen. It can be blue skies and sunny one minute and raining like hell the next, so prepare for sudden changes in weather. It's a beautiful ride, you'll love it. If you get the chance, check out the town of Williams 40 miles west of Flagstaff, nice little town to visit.
Prescott and Sedona are cool places to check out. Prescott to Wickenburg is a pretty cool ride. Lots of twistys. Going from 5K ft to Sea level. Payson is beautiful. Stay away from the Phoenix area during rush hour. Traffic is miserable.
Spot on both these guys,be prepared for anything it's monsoon season in Az.
I've been down quite a few times in August, all sorts of weather but a joy to ride the area.
Payson is nice and cool up in the pines,Oak Creek Canyon from Flagstaff to Sedona is awesome.
I really enjoyed riding from Sedona up to Jerome and checking out theGold King Mine museum and the O'l had fun in all the little quirky shops there in Jerome.
Williams is a fun old town on Rt.66 and where the steam locomotive departs for the Grand Canyon.
Speaking og the GC,I highly recomend a helicopter ride, what a way to see it and worth every penny!
I live in Payson, and it was 94 & humid here today, and the monsoon is coming back for several days next week, they say. Be ready for sudden weather changes from hot / humid to downpours and temp drops in mid to late afternoons / early evenings . Night times temps have been in low 60's so far. Come over from Jerome to Cottonwood to Camp Verde and ride #260 over to Strawberry / Pine and down to Payson. Can then take 260 east up on the rim to Heber and over to Pinetop / Lakeside and ride in the White Mountains as well . Plenty to see and alotta fun on 2 wheels in this state ...[sm=icon_cheers.gif]
