In the photo below, does anyone know for certain, if JSS. Is the Jiffy Stand Sensor? And do you know if the signal being active high means the stand is up, or down?
Im thinking of getting the sensor, and building an alarm, that will blow the air horn, if the stand is raised under certain conditions. But, before I pay the big $$ for the sensor, I want to make sure I can get it to work the way I want.
The sensor is part number 50126-08B and it's $48.xx from Surdyke.com.
You will also need to have the sensor enabled by the dealership through the Digital Technician, unless you have a tool such as Diag4Bike and can DIY that portion.
Even if you can get the switch and the harness has the European plug you need, I'm not sure how you would be able to tap the CANBUS to trigger the horn.
I wonder if a direct switch to ground the horn would be easier to work with
OP says he's building an alarm system. The CANBUS isn't relevant. He's just wanting to use the switch.
OP: that switch is a 3-wire with a 5v reference. Not needed for an alarm trigger. It should still work as a simple NO (normally open) or NC (normally closed) switch to ground using two wires.
Sounds interesting... Guess you're going to wire in a combination of relays to control the logic? Blow horn if bike off, no blow if ignition is on? Sounds like a neat project.
Yup, yaall are getting close. Its going to take more than just the switch. A couple of 555 timers, and their respective circuits to control to pulse width, some switching transistors, a hidden enable/disable switch, and a relay or 2 to cycle the air horn.

My goal is to get it done before we leave for Sturgis, so I know if someone is f#$kn with my bike at a hotel. If so, then Ill jump outta bed and chase them outta the parking lot, whilst being naked. Ill post videos if the hotels have them available.

wouldn't it be cheaper and easier to just get the smart siren and pager to go with your existing security system? though, i do have to admit, sounds like a cool project.
