If you like the HD "ratcheting" type bag bolts, but dont like the big handle... check these out. They ratchet like the HD ones, but have a large flat head instead. I've been using them for a year or so now... https://rickrak.com/product/saddlebag-safety-bolt-kit/

Or, if you're so inclined, a guy could cut the levers off the HD style ones and use an Allen Wrench to tighten/loosen. I thought about it in the past, but now knowing that the rear one will never back off completely, thanks to skratch, I'll just leave them be.........

Well, the recall happened in 2015, shortly after the Rushmore touring bikes were introduced. We started reading about all these 2014/15 MY touring bike saddlebags littering the highways. I have my own theories about what really was happening, but Ill keep them to myself. 🤐
The Dzus fasteners have been used on airplanes and race cars for years and years ... You never hear of a failure ... Put 'em on an HD and suddenly they're junk ( the fasteners ) :>)

I like the Rickrak Saddlebag Bolts, anyone know if they will work?

I am not sure of the size, but they advertise them as working on all hard saddlebags, 1985 and newer. However I found this site with a fitment check and stated would not work on my 2021 Heritage;
