Or, if you're so inclined, a guy could cut the levers off the HD style ones and use an Allen Wrench to tighten/loosen. I thought about it in the past, but now knowing that the rear one will never back off completely, thanks to skratch, I'll just leave them be.........
About a year ago I went with the RickRak just because the OEM ones kept getting in my way. Pricier than some other options but I've been happy with them.
Well, the recall happened in 2015, shortly after the Rushmore touring bikes were introduced. We started reading about all these 2014/15 MY touring bike saddlebags littering the highways. The claim was that both saddlebag’s Dzus fasteners were coming loose on their own and causing the saddlebags to fall off. I have my own theories about what really was happening, but I’ll keep them to myself. 🤐
The Dzus fasteners have been used on airplanes and race cars for years and years ... You never hear of a failure ... Put 'em on an HD and suddenly they're junk ( the fasteners ) :>)
Would these work as replacement bolts on 2018 thru 2022 Heritage Softail Saddlebags? I emailed the Rickrak Company and was informed, "I don't know." I emailed Law Abiding Biker whose reply was both rude and unclear.

I am not sure of the size, but they advertise them as working on all hard saddlebags, 1985 and newer. However I found this site with a fitment check and stated would not work on my 2021 Heritage;
