This would never make it to the production line...It`s a safety issue just like ABS, Fly by wire ETC.
The system will default to off if power is lost. ABS and all related safety typedevices are set to a default off state.

You are correct. A while back, due to a short in my brake light system (samecircuit as CC)the fuse went south. Now at the time I was out on the road and did not know my brake/running light was no longer on, the only indication I had was that my cruise disengaged and would not re-engage.

Soooooo,my cigarrette lighter won't cause me to rear end a semi at high speed? Wheeew! Thanks for the update. I've read a lot of BS on this board, but this takes the cake!

What he said is true, on my 05 ultra my lighter fuse blew, and the cruise control would not disengage, I reached up and turned the switch off, Also lost speedo and tach when it happened.
