I thought it might be age... until my son-in-law said he had the same problem.... I thought it was vibration, but like other said it is only the right hand. I thought it was to firm a grip, but if I relaxed my hand anymore, my hand would fall off.... I put on some higher bars... that helped a heap....
Even with my ISO grips I have the same problem butI've discovered though that it usually happens when I'm in heavy traffic and its then that I have a death grip on the thing. The cruise control helps me relax and rest my hand but I have to tell myself not to squeeze so hard. The ISO grips are much better than the originals but my problem is still self inflicted.
Ditto, I've been doing this for years from off-road bikes to my current cruiser. Every handle bar has done it to my right hand, regardless of the amount of vibration. Primarily due to the constant squeezing and holding of the right hand not allowing blood to flow freely. Thumb over the top of the throttle and a few hand pumps/squeezes gets things back in order pretty quickly for me.
Works GREAT! Went on a 2K trip in May to the dragon & East TN, at the end fo the 400 mi days we were riding my hand was killing me going numb & cramping up, at the Dragon store I got one of these for $7, it was the best $7 i ever spent,
what does everyone do ,after about 100 miles, my right hand goes numb, i have tried a couple different pairs of gloves. I'll be installing cruise in the near future, which i think should ease the numbness. Also does anyone use the throttle lock as a poor man's cruise?
Try having a stress test. Could be poor circulation and the beginning signs of a heart attack. Cruise control is the ticket on the throttle lock deal..
Absolutely not. Bad information and advice. R. hand numbness is not a sign of anythig other than median nerve irritation. Don't offer medical advice when you clearly don't know what you are talking about.

Dude, not giving you medical advice either, but you may need to take a pill. It was just a joke.
this man is a genuis, or moremore accurately is able to easily articulate the obvious.I am not poking fun at this quote, but rather at the gyrations of the non-comonsensical folks here recommending magical gloves and grips. gheez, your hand goes numb because you are squezzing the grip. Duh.............?

"Hand buzz" and vibration aren't necessarily the culprits, but rather the constant squeezing/gripping of the handgrip without relaxing. The constant "flex" of the muscles to hold the throttle is what creates the tingling effect. Think about it. Why would the right one do it and not the left? They are both subjected to the same vibration, yet one tingles and one doesn't. What you can do to offset this is hold the throttle with only the thumb and index & middle finger, then swith position and hold the throttle with all four finger -- with the thumb wresting over or next to the index finger, etc... Cruise control is good for allowing the hand to relax, or the throttle lever which allows your hand to rest on it and maintain speed. Also, at stop signs or lights, take your hand off the grip and open/close/open/close the hand several times... It gets the blood flowing and relaxes the hand/wrist muscles.
