Road King won't start
I'll post instructions to check the gauge but here's how it works. Power is supplied to the circuit on the orange wire at the gauge. Goes through the gauge to the Yellow/white wire, Y/W goes to the sending unit in the tank, which has a variable resistor , current goes through the resistor and to ground on the BK/GN wire. The gauge reading is dependent on the amount of current flowing in the circuit which is determined by the resistance in the sending unit.
Do the checks below and you may find the problem with the gauge.

And just in case
Welcome from North Beach, FL., USA!
Just in case you have not done this.
Add a Signature Line in your USER set up for your bike year, model, and all the letters that Harley recognizes it with so others see at the bottom of all your post. This enables others to know your exact model if you ever ask a question.
And a Avatar of your favorite shot in the USER set up for the small picture others will see in the top left corner of your post.
Your all set.... Enjoy the ride! ______________
PS...
Now I see how its done in the signature block. Have to come up with an adequate avatar but I'll get there.
Now on to other business, Yes I started with the basics of codes then fuses, battery, key fob... all good. But I keep coming back to the tank gauge not registering fuel and Vernal has zeroed in on methodically checking the electrics. This seems to be the way I need to go. I was going to pull tank internals but I do hear the pump but the more I read, there still could be more in the tank that is wrong.
Thanks
