That device goes between the HD Receiver and your garage door opener 2.0. If you use the HD transmitter with the HD receiver they communicate directly. I though you were looking for a clean transmitter solution. Why would you want to use your existing garage door opener and not the HD transmitter that uses the HI/LO beam switch. Just curious...
I wouldnt. Im probably going to use the Harley opener but if for some reason the Geezer Glide would be a better fit Id get the universal one.
HD and Geezer Glide state their openers done work with MyQ Security 2.0. If it wasnt for the cost Id buy them just to see if I can get them to work.
You can. I did. Just connect the 2 wires from the receiver directly on the 2 terminals inside your garage door switch on the wall.
Just need to solder it on and both will work
I mounted my remote inside the fairing with Velcro and then installed a saddlebag lock switch in a blank position (it is a momentary switch). Ran wires from the switch to the remote..
I used the mo-door garage door opener for my 2017 street glide. I had them ship it without any switch attached. Just the wires. Then i used leviton micro switch. I replaced the blank panel with 3 micro switches but only one is functional for the garage door. These are the switches i used: https://www.ebay.com/itm/393904501374. They don't fill the hole all the way but i used black electrical tape underneath & works good.
On my '10 FLHP, I jumpered the remote's button and wired a pigtail to its battery terminals, and then wired the police YELP button terminals in the siren amp connector so it would apply 12V to the siren connector by the nacelle where I plugged in the remote. The remote is tucked away in the nacelle.
For my '18 FLHP, since it has a BCM, I used a momentary toggle switch on the back side of the nacelle and soldered a connector pigtail to the button terminals in the remote to plug in and stay under the right-side cover. This one still uses the remote's battery and can be removed for separate use, but I have enough remotes to keep this one on the bike permanently. Since it's a 2-door remote, I used a momentary on-off-on toggle switch so I could wire it for both doors. Up operates one door, and down operates the other.
I'd REALLY like to find a way to program the BCM to use the police YELP on this bike to apply 12V to the remote, but I haven't found the possibility yet.
Your bike looks like a BCM bike, so this second method would work. Don't fairing bikes have locations for a toggle switch?
Based on feedback on another forum, I bought the Tailwind garage door opener. Under $100 CDN, automatically opens and closes your door, and now my sons can also use the app to open the door if they forget their key. No drilling necessary. https://gotailwind.com/
I used to be able to open my garage door from about 1/4 mile away, and I live in a rural area next to a turnpike. I had bought long range transmitters for my garage and automatic gate several years ago, and enjoyed the perk of having both the gate and garage door being open when I got to my driveway. Then a couple of years ago the turnpike built its own concrete plant across the highway from my place, and for some reason was jamming my signal with their high powered whatever electronics, and my range shortened to about 50 feet from my driveway. I checked the power of my transmitters and they were still strong. I tried to find out about what they had and were doing, but I can`t get any answers.... `Really pisses me off!
The Harley remote system has a separate transmitter and receiver. The receiver has a two wire output that wires directly to the garage door opener where the wired button goes to. It is independent of the remote system used by the garage door opener so I'm not sure why.it would not work.
It doesn't work with every garage door motor. Harley is clear about this. That said, mine isn't one listed as an issue, yet it didn't work. I wired in to the motor and also tried wiring to the wall switch. Neither worked.
I emailed creative solutions and he replied saying I'm SOL. He didn't have anything for that opener either.
So at this point it's all connected still, bike side I mean. I've been too lazy to open fairing back up and pull it.
