You can. I did. Just connect the 2 wires from the receiver directly on the 2 terminals inside your garage door switch on the wall.
Just need to solder it on and both will work
So I have MyQ openers. Are you saying I can buy the HD transmitter/receiver kit that wires in to the headlight switch, wire the receiver directly to the wall switch, and it will work fine? It seems that's what you are saying, but I'd like to confirm before dropping the $150 for the kit.
Yes, it will work fine. It connects to the 2 terminals that your door opener push button connects to. I've been using them for years on various openers. Never a problem.

Yes, Open your wall switch and locate the solder terminals that the switch/pushbutton is connected to, use a ohmmeter if you need to, solder the 2 wires from the receiver to those 2 terminals and it will work.
Yep, That's all you have to do. If the wires from your inside button screw onto the opener housing like most, you can just add the wires from the receiver to the button wires, and you're good to go. I have my receiver next to my opener, and plugged into the same outlet. The Harley system works great - just flash your bright lights when approaching.

I could not get it to work that way on my MyQ opener
even the inside door button uses a rolling code system and won't respond to a simple closed contact you get with the HD setup.
So on mine I did take it apart and soldered the 2 wires onto the small board that went to the switch button.
Havent decided what I want to do but one good thing that came out of the masking nonsense is my Iphone allows you to update facial recognition when masked... Well it works then wearing a full face helmet to. So I can open the My Q app and open the door pretty easy. I will prob get the adapter to add it to Home kit and be set.
