Waiting for dealer-ordered from his other store. 2022 RGS Gunship Grey, blacked. Traded my 2014 Heritage and 2016 BMW R1200RT. The Bmw was getting uncomfortably taller and taller every year as I got older. The RG will cover crusin' and touring! The only add on I'm doing at first is a luggage rack- son and I are heading to Clarkesdale MS. in May and I need to strap on camping gear. I'd prefer a solo seat as I only ride solo but a little patience wouldn't hurt for once...I never expected the war dep't to go along with the bump up to special!! (She didn't like the color choices in the 107 LOL- they didn't go with the house color or the cars!! Who am I to argue?!) I loved the BMW touring but a test ride on the RG makes me think this is gonna be JUST FINE!! I actually don't mind going down one ride; leaves me with a 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan, 2004 Triumph Thunderbird Sport (885 triple) and the 2022 RGS. Had to tell someone- glad y'all are here!
congrats. i am a fan of the gunship gray, though a lot of folks call it 'glossy primer'. gray with black out pieces is very sharp. hope you get lots of (s)miles out of it.
The RGS is just a plain awesome bike. Coming up on 5 years of ownership with mine, and that's the longest I've had any vehicle. There's a reason for that.
Congrats
interesting. I’m up there in age and sold my RKS to go back to an RT. Just got it with the low seat
kept the LRS though
I suppose "something new" was part of my decision- as well as having one bike sort of replace both a touring and cruising bike...but at 75yo and shrinking, the RT was getting uncomfortable moving around slow...I know that's also rider skill, but loaded up I wasn't totally confident. I LOVE the RT though- got the Illium HiWay pegs and the Bar backs and had the Russel Day long seat- That boxer engine is a gem and it was fast too!! (HP/weight ratio I guess). The shift pro is amazing. I got a Different windshield too- recurve- . I have nothing negative to say about the RT...but I'm excited as hell about the RKS! (As I'm sure you are about your new BMW LOL) The dealer trade aint getting the pegs, windshield, tank bag and, maybe, top box or the bags for all cases...he did manage to weasel the Nav VI for a luggage rack in the road glide!
