I have a triglide. Do I have break pads or brake pads? Asking for a friend.

Brake pad wear is like tire wear. I don't ride like you and I don't ride where you ride. Everyone's result will be different. I get about 20,000 on rears and about 40,000 on fronts on dressers.

Best pads I've used in the last few years has been the double sintered $11 Volar pads from D2Moto. They appear to be out of business.

Couldn't give me EBC pads. They might wear good but I can't stand the buzzing/hissing!

I tried the volar pads from d2moto worst pads ever. After about 400 miles they would chatter at every stop. Sounded like a semi truck. Went back to EBC double H sintered now I'm happy again. I change mine every spring. Front wear more than the rear.

the oem brembos have been good to me the ebc were good on a triumph i had, but they wore quite quickly but stopped really well. Changing your fluid is and isnt a diy proposition. the abs wont be bled unless you have the puter to open said abs. so you will bleed the brakes but not replace all of the fluid. Where i live an abs module is a grand. Dealer 1 hour plus fluid. Take your pick.

AS mentioned above brakes are like tires. Everyone's riding style, weight, and local conditions are all going to be different. I am lucky if I get 15k out of the fronts so I usually change them out when I change the front tire. The rears depend on how much two up riding I do as I use more rear to help stop with the additional weight. Some HD riders I know almost exclusively rely on the rear brake and they get opposite wear patterns.

EBC makes a great product but they are noisy. The Indy that I use for tires slapped a set on my road king with the last set of tires because they were warn, he had them on the shelf and he knew I would want them replaced. Otherwise if I catch them I use the OEM Brembos. They wear well and are quiet but much more expensive.

Wonder if they’ve ever heard of the 70/30 principle?

Brakes? Who needs them? They only slow you down! Bah daa dum. And yeah notice my name. Like mirrors. Who wants to see where they've been? Ok, I'll stop.
But really, I put a pair of EBC Sintered pads on and they destroyed my rotor. The noise was that of something on a metal lathe. When I noticed the huge groove and pulled the pads there was a giant hunk of metal in the pad. Now I run OEM grade pads. Not necessarily HD brand but there are other mfgrs that make that type of pad. Since braking on my Heritage is more just a suggestion, and I don't get crazy anymore, they work fine.
