But really, I put a pair of EBC Sintered pads on and they destroyed my rotor. The noise was that of something on a metal lathe. When I noticed the huge groove and pulled the pads there was a giant hunk of metal in the pad. Now I run OEM grade pads. Not necessarily HD brand but there are other mfgrs that make that type of pad. Since braking on my Heritage is more just a suggestion, and I don't get crazy anymore, they work fine.
Its not where I’ve been that worries me but where I might be going (heaven/hell) if I don’t see that 18 wheeler rolling up behind me not stopping at a light!

I appreciate you asking OP. I am approaching 20K on my 2019 Street Glide and its tough to see exactly how much pad is left without pulling the caliper off. I plan on removing my front wheel for a new tire in the next month and will decide if I want to do the brake pads then. If I do the front, I will probably just order a set for the rear also.

Oh trust me I know. All joking aside, I've been rear ended. I'm now the guy that looks in my mirror constantly now and and taps my brake light at stops.

EBC semi-sintered. I didn't want full-sintered because they're too grabby for my liking, as well as noisy and dusty. EBC Brakes Semi-Sintered V-Pads are a new blended Semi-Sintered brake pad that combine the highest qualities of an organic brake pad with the endurance of a sintered equivalent brake pad.

They are also kinder to the brake rotors in regard to wear. These are my go-to pads. I just replace them with every tire change because they're cheap.

Changing the Pads its pretty easy Job. I use OEM pads, have used ebc pads in past. good how to videos on you tube. take laptop out in garage or where ever and watch it as you go. OEM pads are expensive, at least for me, so shop around ahead of time.

The trickiest part of it for me was finding a socket to fit the caliper bolts lol - 12pt 11mm or something funky like that. Only a 12pt will work.

I also went ahead and replaced the pad pins and spring clips while I was doing it too ($15 maybe - parts are listed HERE). Did I need to? Probably not, but I had started to get a little clunking sound when I would come to a stop - the pin and spring change did help. And after thoroughly cleaning everything with Brakleen, I added sil-glyde to every contact point between the pistons and pads, pads and calipers, pads and pins, pins and calipers, etc.

Right here on the forum there is a how-to: Harley Davidson Touring: How to Replace Brake Pads, Calipers, and Rotors | Hdforums
