Default Bike died while riding

Hey everyone! So I have a 2018 road king special. Something strange happened today while riding. I was on the highway going around 70mph when I hit a small bump. Nothing huge but enough to notice and my bike just died. It was hard to tell if it just shut off or if it sputtered out and then died. I think I was in cruise control as well. I pulled off and shut off the ignition and looked it over. Looked fine. Oil light was on and check engine light was on. Checked for codes and there was nothing. Turned ignition on and it fired up fine and I road home with no problem. Took it out a little later and it also ran fine. Does anyone know something about this?

Check to see if the main fuse has a tight connection in the fuse box.

Happened to me once at night on a dark road. Somehow during my bump my hand hit the switch on the bars and killed it. I was able to figure it out during the coast, flipped it back, and on my way i went

If you didn’t accidentally hit the kill switch which I have done, you possibly have a loose connection. Start with the 50amp fuse as mentioned above and and then move to the battery connections and continue on until you find something.

could it be voltage regulator? I had that happen once on my fat boy, cruising about 50 or so and all a sudden it just shut off. thankfully I was approaching a stop sign anyway. At the sign after stopping I turned ignition off and restarted bike and it was fine. not long after I realized my voltage regulator was bad. I don't remember if that is a symptom of it or not though or if I stumbled across that while researching VR issues. I do know it never happened again after replacing the VR.

Its the old equation -- Air, Spark, fuel

* A bump wont impact air
* A bump immediately should not impact fuel unless you have crap in the tank that I doubt
* Spark / Ignition is most likely the culprit. My 1st looks would be either a. a loose battery connection, b. a loose ground, c. loose connection. 1st check the fuses...

Yes I did change bars recently but I’ve checked everything in the control modules so many times and made sure everything is connected properly. As well as behind the headlight. I did have that main fuse out many times though and installed a new battery. I was very careful as to tighten things properly but something could have come loose. I’ll check. Hitting the kill switch thing is interesting though. I mean I didn’t notice if I did but… I had my right hand off the throttle and from what I remember it happened as I grabbed the throttle again. I had both hands on the bars but just barley. Also hit plenty of rough patches in the highway.

It happened to my previous 2018 Street Bob once. Luckily it was very close to the dealer when it happened so I went to the dealer and let them to check. They told me everything was good, nothing wrong...... I just convinced myself I hit the off button.
