This past weekend I readjusted my primary chain and clutch for the third time -- never have been able to find neutral when the bike was hot. I think the clutch was fine, but primary was still off.
Anyway, read somewhere here last night that if I rev the engine slightly while lifting the shift lever it will move into neutral. HOT DAMN IT WORKED. My primary chain was too loose, so adjusting it had to be done anyway, but now my bike goes into neutral everytime if I rev ever so slightly while lifting the shift lever.
Whoever provided that tip, THANK YOU! Took me almost a year, but yes, my bike does have NEUTRAL. [sm=yeahsmile.gif]
LOL, funny. I would have thought you would have figured it out sooner. LOL I adjusted my tensioner when I did the 5k. It was a little tricky, for me anyways. How did you get the slide to move up? I loosened the nut, put some needle nose vice grips on the nut, pulled it back toward me, and only then was I able to raise the tensioner. Is there a better way?
Nope, Papa, that's pretty much the way I did it. Previous times I adjusted it on the loose side, probably at 7/8". This time I adjusted in on the tight side, 5/8" so when it heated up and still wouldn't be too loose. Dang, it works great now. Some dogs just take longer than others!
