Question Voltage Regulator

Hi guys, I've been having issues with my bike. I have a 2008 FLHTC and I change my voltage regulator at least twice a year. I've barely rode 500 miles with the bike and low and behold yet again the bike isn't charging any more. I've got a new battery in the bike ,my volt meter says I'm running between 45 and 50 volts at 2500 rpm and the ohms meter is reading zero from all three probes. I'm at a loss. all the codes are P0562 and P1353 the other code are for the ABS system. I may as well buy shares in the folks that I buy my voltage regulator from.
the only change I've made on the bike since this issue arose is that I put LED lights, but I can't see them taking that much power.
Can anyone help me with some suggestions at what I should be looking for/

What other testing did you do? Could be other things, stator comes to mind....

Is this the same problem you had in 2018?

Any suggestions or has anyone had this type of problem?
You stated you had a short in the system. Probably should go over the wiring and check all grounds and connections. Buy a quality voltage regulator but first do the diagnostics.

Or take it to someone who knows how to troubleshoot wiring & electrical issues on Harleys.

You've had a charging problem for four years now. Obviously, changing the voltage regulator twice a year isn't fixing your problem. Do you want to fix the bike once and for all or continue to have problems?

If you don't feel that you have the skills to diagnose and fix the problem then take it to someone that does. To help diagnose, follow the links CoolBreeze3646 provided.

Update this thread when new information is available and post the solution when one is found. Good luck.

Nearly all of my "charging issues" have been directly related to a weak or discharged battery.

But since you've replaced the voltage regulator and have a new battery the most likely issue would be the stator.
I have only had to replace one stator (at 39,000 miles) and one voltage regulator (at 25,000 miles) both on T/C engines
Be sure to check that your battery terminals are clean and tight and also the ground cable at the frame

As someone stated before you need to have your stator checked and it that checks out OK you could then start looking for a "power draw". and the cheapest, easiest way of doing that is by fully charging your battery and disconnecting one of the battery terminals and letting the bike sit for a day or more and then check the battery's charge.
Some batteries will either not hold a charge or possibly have a dead cell that can be difficult to diagnose.

Good luck.

It could be the problem is the connector for the stator.

Change the regulator, stator and what the hell, change the rotor also while you're in there.

I just went through this excercise on my Ducati S4RS, they're notorious for blowing reg/recs.

Diagnosing stator issues is simple with a multimeter (even I can do it).

Here's the matching video for the regulator (my issue)

If you are buying them from the same supplier you might want to change that
