Stator recommdations
I am looking at the Cycle Electric Stator at JP Cycles. This seems to be middle ground as far as price. Any reason to not go with this one? Any helpful tips for replacing it? Thanks

For me there are a lot of things I enjoy wrenching on my bike; replacing the stator is not one of them.
I believe I paid $300 in labor last year to have my stator replaced and have no regrets writing that check.
As to which stator is best:
When my stator went out last year I asked my Indie other than the OEM what he recommended.
His first question was; “is the existing stator an OEM or aftermarket”?
I informed him it was the original OEM.
His second question was; “how old is the existing stator and how many miles is on it”?
I told him it was 12 years old and had around 40,000 miles on it.
His third question was; “if the OEM lasted 12 years and 40,000 miles why would I want to go with anything else”?
I had the stator and regulator replaced with OEM.

It's suppose to cycle the voltage as needed putting less strain on the stator.
Might be snake oil, but I don't want to go in there again if I don't have to.
I contemplated going with the 3-phase but decided against it only for financial reasons.
While I've never had an issue with an HD OEM stator, if I were to need a replacement, I'd go with Cycle Electric...
I did have an issue with the rectifier (regulator) on the 1980 Harley FXS I bought new... It went out at about 12k Miles. I replaced it with OEM (Cycle Electric wasn't around then). That one lasted about 15K miles.. With few choices, I replaced it again with an OEM Rectifier.... That one was still kicking at 60K miles when I sold that bike in 1989...
