I've got spokes on my FLHTCU ... Try getting in between all the other stuff and then getting square on the valve stem ... I'm no rookie to this ( been on two wheels more than 50 years ) and the hose extension is the best option I've found so far ,,, That includes all the Milton and Shrade air gauges and adapters that I've accumulated over the years in my tool boxes / cabinets :>
As you know, I use the same thing. I find that it loses less air during attachment and detachment than anything else I've tried. And once it's on I can easily inflate, deflate, use a gauge, as much as I want. Trying to get any kind of chuck in there, push it down on the valve and hold that seal, and do the same with a gauge, is a lot more of a pain for me than screwing that hose on and taking it off. That hose is also easy to take with me and use anywhere.
Check hole size in rim for 90 degree stems. I bought a couple different ones, and they were either too large to fit the existing hole or the threads on new stems weren't long enough to make it through rim wall. I wasn't comfortable with drilling a large hole through my forged alloy wheels.
thats neat...but ain't working on any gas station air pump I've ever seen. I carry the HD extension hose on the bike...fits right in the case of the mini air pump. I've had several people see the hose in use and say " no ****...where the hell did ya get that?" Lol...it's easy, cheap...by hd standards...and works. But just oil or wax everyone has their favorite lol.
