This is NOT another "Bagger Wobble" thread ...
This is certainly not meant to be another Bagger wobble discussion. There are plenty of those already.
All I'd really like to know is if anyone here is familiar with, or recognizes what stabilizer Brand, Model, (or whatever it is), that came on my recently purchased '07 Electra FLHTC.
I've already started reading grbrowns "Exposed" thread' on the infamous, (and apparently also Elusive), **Bagger Wobble** issue, and I will continue reading through it some more.
So all I'd really hope to learn in THIS Thread, is if the unit that came on my bike,
(installed by the original owner),
is a Good one (?) or not ?, and or, What do I need to know about as far as inspection, maintenance, adjustments necessary, etc.
I did not get to actually meet the original owner that I bought this bike from, (2 months ago), due to his apparent declining health issues.
I bought the bike from His buddy who was helping him out and selling it for him.
As a result, I did not get all the previous records, papers, and info, on everything that has been added and upgraded on this bike. I'm just trying to figure out what all has been done to this bike and what I need to know about all the "Gadgets" it has, LOL!
So with that, Here's a couple of pics of the unit that's currently on the bike.
I greatly appreciate any info on it you guys might have.
Thanks for any/all replies.
Cheers !
My suggestion to you is to forget the unit is there. Just ride the bike. Lots of guys throw stuff on their bike because they read about it in magazines or on the internet. I could start a thread tomorrow about leaky valve stems, and by next week everyone will have installed the newest most expensive valve stems they can find. (Note to self, patent a new valve stem)
Dont get me wrong, Im not saying the death wobble doesnt exist, I just dont think that most guys ride hard enough to ever induce it. Im chasing a high speed handling issue at the moment too, but Im not sure if its wobble, tire, or rider induced.
My point is, ride the bike, forget its there. Unless the bike is giving you issues, just consider it a non serviceable part. Make sure the fasteners are tight and go about your day. There are no special service precautions.

but my understanding was the original design for the touring bikes included a rear link and the bean counters removed it. I know all three of the Road Kings I've owned had a mushy feeling in the rear through long high speed turns, made the back weave a little but never a wobble. I'll be adding a link to my current bike because I've heard enough feedback to believe it tightens up the handling eliminating the weave.

As LP pointed out, its a unit sold thru Dennis Kirk. Its not cheap.

It seems to address the problem in a similar way as the True Track Stabilizer... both are close in price. I know the True-Track works, as I had it on my 2012 Limited. I experienced the death wobble prior to its install, but not after...
I totally agree that most don't push their baggers hard enough to induce the wobble... That's why HD was able to avoid addressing it for years. But evidenced by my experience with it on a 2009+ frame, it still exists if pushed hard enough...
I haven't experienced it on ,y 2016 Rushmore bagger, yet, and I drive that similar to my 2012 bagger.... since I put a large HP/TQ crate engine in the 2016, I'll put a True Track on it in the near future to avoid another wobble incident..
