Yes, I have a lift but I hate wasting 30 minutes putting my bike on the lift JUST to check oil. But that's what I do when I check those levels. (I usually have other things to do when I use the lift so it's not a complete waste)

I'll get off my soapbox now!
Only the primary needs to be checked upright. Which is usually only when you are changing it. The oil dipstick has marks for upright and sidestand. The trans isn't that critical. If I see anything on the dipstick I'm satisfied.

Same here. I check it to this spot because there is a little lip right there that can easily be spotted with a flashlight and small screwdriver. I bring it up until I can see the screwdriver just breaking the surface tension of the lubricant while resting right on that lip.

Weird. Back in the day before the manuals started stating just pour in "X amount of Ounces", it stated to fill so the oil is just touching the diaphragm spring... which looks to be the thing in orange....

Not really though. The entire gray area in that graphic is the diaphragm spring so just touching it would be where my red arrow is.

That's where I usually put it as well, but look at the Pic. It's pointing to "Even with the clutch opening"... little arrow, where I drew the orange line.

That's why I said it's "Weird"... That's a huge range. Basically anywhere as long as oil is not dripping out.

BTW, Need to move that Red arrow up some so it's touching the Diaphragm spring and not the outer clutch hub.
