Well now you're just picking nits. I had to zoom way in to even see the difference. If we're playing that game, there's no such thing as an "outer clutch hub". There's a clutch hub and a clutch shell, which is what you were referring to.

In the early years of the diaphragm clutch the service manuals called out an incorrect level, which would result in an over filled primary drive system.
The proper level for all big twins since mid 1984 is: Lube just touching the outer shell of the clutch, bike upright.
Ignore what those early manuals call out.
And a little low isn`t going to hurt a thing.

I guess the M8 primaries have a smaller capacity. AS the M8 book says 34 oz dry, 30 oz wet, and the twin cams have 38 oz wet, 45 oz dry. Both show the same level as to the clutch.
