I got the option to buy these shocks used. Set up for rider passenger similar to me. Is this good shock? How much will you say would be fair deal for used set?

What are they $680 new? I wouldn't pay more than $500. But that's me.

Better than stock.
By far.
Miles matter. It’s a few hundo for a rebuild and shipping back.
If they’re in the 25 to 40K miles range, they should have a rebuild, figure that into the cost.

I’d also be in the $500 range if the mileage wasn’t too high.

I’m gonna say this… and I’m not trying to offend, just being honest.
You have a brand new, most likely 30K give or take touring bike…
I’ve read and responded to your other thread.

There are places to save money…. Suspension isn’t a place I look to save money, especially on a brand new bike with only your miles on it.
These shocks, brand new, 680. I don’t know if saving a few hundred bucks, maybe is worth it to me unless you know the seller personally, trust them and you feel they’ll give you accurate miles..that’s just me.
The fact you don’t already don’t know the miles…tells me you don’t know them personally. If you do know the miles…should just state it, not let’s say 10K.
The small savings wouldn’t be worth it to me…. But it’s your money. And we all have our own opinions.
Those are Ohlins economy based/priced shocks. Step up from stock for sure.

Here are the specs and new MSRP pricing from a reputable retailer. They're a good set of shocks, but be sure you have the install and adjustment components, like the install bolts and spacers, adjustment spanner and manual. Pretty sure the manual has info on how to install and set the sag, as well as preload adjustments. The Ohlins measure preload adjustments a bit different.

They look pretty used, and not knowing the miles, they maybe close to rebuilding already. Up to you, but I agree with others. As far as price, 1/2 of MSRP would be a start. Remember, Ohlins offers different spring rates for their shocks, so be sure most of your riding style and weight are very similar to what the owner uses, otherwise the springs might be a bit stiff or too soft.

Appreciate it and I thought same 180$ is not worth it. I feel I might just buy the new same type shock. Is the ride difference that much of the difference between this model and $999 model shock? As for now I am considering Ohlins, Legend and Bitubo and yes definitely would like to spend my money wisely and get the best value for the money. Adjustment without tools would be great but is not something I have to have.

I have the HD 159 (the $1000 shock) and they are as good as you can get until you get into the remote reservoir. I can say they are worth every penny paid. I don't skimp on parts like this. Second hand exhaust, handlebars, a windshield, that's fine. A safety feature such as shocks or tires, dig deep and get the best you can.

If you want to stay with the same 12" length and 3" of stroke, the $999 Ohlins might have a slightly different components, like internal valving and the shocks are a smidge slimmer. It also has adjustable rebound damping. And it's part of Ohlins Blackline and the performance is a smidge better. You're getting into top-tier territory with these. Here's some specs.
