Default Tourpack removal kit...

Ok guys, I've used the search function and I can't seem to find an answer, I'm looking for one of the Harley OEM Tour Pack Detach kit for a 14 FLHTK. I've read all the pros and cons but for me I feel I'd like to have it off for rides and on for trips so this seems like it would be perfect for me...the trouble is I can't find one at all. On Harleys website the one they list only goes to 13, I can't find one for a 14 anywhere. I really wanted to use a harley oem one because I had heard the aftermarket ones rattle because the bushings are junk. Any help anyone has to point me in the right direction would be appreciated.

They just had a recall on them, so they probably removed them.

Yep, you are most definitely correct. None, zero, nada on the H-D site. If you're wanting H-D (or better) quality, try Advanblack. I've got their tourpak, mounting rack, and docking hardware and have no rattles whatsoever.
https://www.advanblack.com/4-point-d...-14-later.html
https://www.advanblack.com/detachabl...-14-later.html
That'll bring you in at $277 plus tax, which is definitely cheaper than H-D.
I hope this helps.

@AdvanBlack is very reputable and OEM or better quality. Do not hesitate. Stellar customer support too.

Yup all of the conversion kits are recalled. Just a minor fix to install/glue on that reflector piece.

If you really really really have to have one right now, you can find them at some of the online places for a chunk-a-change, like here. Or you can piece together the parts like above, but you'll need the harness for your TP lights.

Call me confused, but wouldn't he already have the harness from his existing tour-pak? Or did I stupidly assume that he already has one? If he doesn't, for half the price he could go color-matched from Advanblack.....and not have to wait 6-8 weeks for color matching. I bought the tour-pak which came with the wiring harness, reaper tail light, and liner for way less than half of Harley's price. I then ordered a trunk lock from Harley (10 days) and now one key fits all. I was really concerned about getting a color match (Billiard Red) but the quality and color are perfect.

I'm assuming the the harness that comes with the conversion kit is for the auxiliary tail lamps...the ones that stick on the saddlebags. I didn't mean to say the TP lights.

Many guys use the CD light fillers, but others like th lights on the bags.

Thinking of building my own kit as well. Probably going to do it in stages.
Stage 1: Bag lights to work as turn signals, new brake light with a plate bracket that puts the plate below the light, and a hidden antenna kit to move the antenna under the front fairing.
- This will allow me to remove the TP by just unbolting it from the bike. Four bolts should be simple enough after seeing some others post about it.

Stage 2 (if needed/wanted): Quick detach kit from HD for the tourpack.
- At this point I'll already have the turn signals on the bags, antenna and license plate moved so it should be a simple install.

When I did mine, it would have been about the same to "piece it together"... I traded out stuff in the "kit" with stuff I wanted instead....
But this is super simple to do on the Rushmore and later bikes... Like said just above, you're going to have to do something about the 1) AM/FM antenna, 2) turn signals that leave with tour pack, 3) have a place to mount your tag. Unplug 2 connectors (1 lighting & 1 audio), and unplug 1 or 2 antennas (am/fm & CB)... all connections are either under the seat or in front of the tour pack, and the tour pack is cleanly "unwired". Then just remove 4 bolts and the tour pack is off the bike.

I used a hidden AM/FM antenna (I used the HD one, and it has worked fine for me), so whether the tour pack is on or off its taken care of.
I used the slot lights (HD Electra Glo Keystones, CD Fillerz, etc), they all come with plug and play harnesses that'll work with or without the tour pack, so whether the tour pack is off or on its taken care of.
The tag mount can be the pain in the ***, depends on what you "want", I didn't like the "billboard" mount like that came with the kit, so I mounted a CD tag mount and a CD lit tag frame below the brake light on the fender and put a brake light lens on without a "tag window"... problem solved with or without the tour pack.

Then if you want the ability to take the tour pack off and put it back on easier (not having to mess with the 4 bolts each time), get the 4-point dock and tour pack mount... and you're just unhooking/hooking up the 2 connectors for the tour pack. HD, maybe inadvertently, is doing you a favor by pulling the "kits" until they get the "issue" resolved... now you'll get it set up with the components you'll actually choose
