I'm running the SE touring mufflers along with SE air cleaner and SERT. Bike runs cooler and smoother now compared to stock. Exhaust has a nice throaty sound to it......louder than stock, but not obnoxious. I'm happy with my choice and it's all Harley parts.
Those bastads, sold you an incomplete/inferior product and made you spend more money with them just to get it closer to being right; the way it should have been from the factory!
Sorry, I couldn't resist... Congrats are in order, actually!
I have the SE Street Performance Touring Mufflers, SE Stage 1 Intake, and a FuelPak. I had the Stage 1 download, but it was still running lean and I wasn't really pleased with it - there was a little surging at freeway speeds and throttle response was not as "fluid" as I wanted. I installed the FuelPak over it, used the map on the V&H website, and am finally happy. If you go with the download, you will have no trouble installing the intake and mufflers yourself and only letting the dealer do the download. If you go with the FuelPak or other ECM manager, you can avoid a trip to the dealer altogether.
Worth it? Yeah, I think so. Bike runs better, slight power increase, some heat reduction. For a thousand bucks, it's good "bang for the buck".
I have the SE street performance slip-ons w/SERT and they work well , they don't make much sound until 3000 , I've got 1500 on them and they are getting better. SERT / Tmax is a good idea to address the over lean issues . Mine cooled down a lot, and recovers from stop light heat quicker since the SERT tune.
