Electrical Headache
I am looking to see if anyone might have an answer for me. Have a 2010 Road Glide, and I have burned up 2 stators in 2 months. I had the voltage regulator go bad on the first stator. It over charged. So replaced the regulator and stator at that time. Rode the bike a few weeks, noticed that the voltage would jump from 11 volts to 14 on times. But typically was at 13-14 volts. Checked battery cables and continued to ride. Just burned up the second stator. This time replaced the stator, regulator, and rotor with Cycle Electric units, hoping to eliminate the problem. Now the bike is not charging. Only getting 12.9 to the battery. Added brand new battery, even replaced ground cable in case ground was bad. Still the same thing. Please, what am I missing. I have done ohm checks on the stator and tested the regulator, and it is doing what its supposed to be doing with AC voltage as well. Just stumped.
