Hi guys
Recently I purchased 2022 Road King Special as you probably know it is all blacked out and I thought I would like to throw a bit of the chrome to the mix to make it pop. Little accents here and there. I consider exhaust in chrome as biggest element of chrome finish, but I would like to add front fender trim, shifter and shifter linkage, horn cover, rear light and license plate, engine and saddlebags guards, rear rack. It is not a piece meal all these elements would need to go on this bike to make it look right otherwise it will be out of place look.
i am sure I am not the only one that think about such change so if anyone did that I would love to see the pictures.
I did same to my previous Heritage and it turn out to be beautiful bike.
when i bought my special in 2019, it was all blacked out, cept for a couple of chrome bits. i've since added a few: wheels, exhaust, shifter, toe shifter, old style horn cover, and probably a few more than i can think of right now. i like the look of black and chrome mixed.
it's funny, with my previous cvo, i was taking the chrome bits off and blacking it out. with this bike, just the opposite.

Now THAT is a good look!! Nice touch there Skratch. With the changes you made, the bike now has some"definition" to it.
I once saw a Road King that was owned by a bail bondsman. It had EVERY piece of extra chrome out of the Harley Catalog that would fit on a Road King. There was no definition at all and he ruined what could have been a great looking bike.
Find someone willing to trade your black for their chrome. That's what I've done for a few of my parts I wanted to go black on. I still have two items I want to black out. A lot of what I've done I did myself in my oven. It's easier to go black than chrome like you want so trading is the least expensive option.
