So I have this war horse, couple months back I had a misfire issue and changed the coil and all was well. Now, it presents the same with the sputtering, sometimes stalls on initial start, backfires, black smoke out exhaust, rough idle, sounds like it's struggling. I get P0505 code but has went away. Fouled spark plugs with black carbon, running rich. Now I've changed AIT, ETS, CKP, has good compression, changed plugs, wires, coil. Checked injectors, throttle body has response and sets idle however bike is bucking. I'm at a loss with what could be happening. Bike ran strong before this. Went to Mexico and broke down on my way back.

Possibly bad gas from Mexico? If you got gas there.
Start looking for a vacuum leak; your intake manifold seals. Check that your O2 sensors and your exhaust mounting nuts are tight. Double check that your compression releases arent loose and causing an issue.
If it was a sudden thing while riding in Mexico, perhaps the Mexican gas jacked up your O2 sensors and the ECU is getting sent some jacked up data. Might not be enough to set a code, but the symptoms will manifest as they are. I wouldnt put it past Mexico to have some leaded fuel contamination in their unleaded tanks.
I checked for leaks with starter fluid, no change in idle. I checked my exhaust with smoke. No air escape. I'm pretty much at a lost. However I just ordered new 02 sensors in case ecm is getting bad info and causing the iratic mixture. Just covering another base. Right now, I've had some pretty knowledgeable people take a look at bike and it's a head scratcher for sure.... thanks for your response.

No worries. Hard to really get into without seeing the live long term fuel trims, that would be the easiest way to confirm bad O2s,

check for broken wires at the AIT and the TB plug. they could be broken or frayed under the casing. they have replacement plugs for both on ebay. they are cheap and easy to replace. I replaced both on my 12 and no more issues.
good luck!
