They're great people to deal with and VERY helpful with any questions you may have, especially about height and tint. (I personally never buy a tinted windshield but that's just me.)
Dave..... if you get the Wheel Dock for your bike, you will love it! Mine sits in that all summer long. When it's in the garage that is!!
Buffeting... nasty outcome riding a bike! I found that the fugly fangs eliminated the buffeting, but didn't care too much for the looks. I have a 7" LRS shield with recurve at top. I installed the DK air wings at the bottom of and in the front the tank. I since removed the fangs and experience no buffeting. I'm 5'7" and typically wear half helmet. I'm happy.
Is the 7 Freedom windshield taller or shorter than stock; and if so, by how much?
Its a couple inches taller. I replaced my garbage stock windshield on 2021 street glide this summer, and it was worth every penny! Huge difference in buffeting and can now hear my stereo without all the wind noise. Im about 511 and the 7 dark smoke works outstanding. Company is top notch and highly recommend. You wont be sorry.
Freedom Shield Touring x 14" as measured on the slope from top to bottom edge of the shield. I believe the measurement system they use is different for each fairing type. I also bought a Sport Touring and liked the way it looked, however the Touring did provide more wind protection at my shoulders and for my wife. I actually think the Touring is a pretty good look while not being exactly aggressive with its shape and curves. Smoother lines = smoother air flow generally. I'm 6-0 with normal torso. The 14" was right while the 15" was high enough to be distracting much of the time.
There are plenty of good shields out there, but imo nobody is exceeding the quality and service of Freedom Shields.
I have had a Freedom shield on two bikes and it makes a big difference. Now have a 10” on my limited and even with my face shield up I get nothing for buffing. Definitely the touring style makes a difference. I am 6’1” and my 8” on my 15 limited was good but wanted a bit more, maybe a 9” would be right but very happy with it.

Hey Spartanden- just out of curiosity, can you see over you shield ? Im about 59 and am currently running just a 4 1/2 spoiler, I think its an HD brand, but I am getting some buffeting (also ran the DKs deflectors for heat in the summer to help with engine heat, and it seemed to make the buffeting worse).
Thanks .
I’m interested in a change of shield. Can some of you with a batwing post up a pic of your freedom shields ? (Touring width) I’m 6’ and probably looking at an 8” dark smoke touring style.
btw OP that’s a gorgeous bike you have there!

I'm about 5'11" (started shrinking. Lol). I have a dark smoke 7" on my street glide and it's perfect. Great quality and customer service. I will never have anything but a Freedom Shield.
