As many have said the HD seats are less than adequate. I would suggest looking at one of the aftermarket seats. When you experience the difference, you will see the difference. Heck, you will feel it in your *** and back. I upgraded my bike's suspension and seat to the HD Hammock, road across the US and back. Loved the seat. Then took a 12 hour ride with my wife and was in so much pain for the last 3 hours (yes i adjusted the suspension) I bought a new seat the next week. The difference is amazing.
When you take your seat off, feel how flimsy it is, then feel the aftermarket seats and you will be amazed in the difference.
Try to avoid the use of "memory foam" when re-working your seat. Memory foam, while it feels nice when first sat upon....once it compresses under your weight there's ZERO cushioning because its so compressed you're sitting on the seat pan. A FIRM seat is actually better than a soft one....counter-intuitive YES but true.
Whatever you do try to demo the seat of your choice and test it out for at least an hour or longer.
