Good day brothers. Just picked up a beautiful 2006 FLHTCUSE with about 54000 miles on it and all seems good with exception of the high beam issue.
Headlight and aux lights up front work fine when the low beam is on but all three turn off when I switch to high beam. Originally thought it was a bad bulb but still have the same problem with a new one installed.
Have not checked voltage at the plug yet but will later today. Any suggestions?
Check for voltage at the socket in high beam.
When in high beam the power to the low beam turns off, this also controls the Aux lights power.
Some states require the Aux/driving lighting not be on when the high beams are on.
This can be rewired to override but that's not your issue right now.
So, check for voltage at the socket in the bucket then start tracing the wire back towards the switch.
When I had a similar problem, it was at the plug under the tank.
Measuring voltages at the headlamp bulb connector you will most definitely have 12volts between the yellow and black wire. Check for the same across the white and black wires with the Hi-Lo beam switch in the Hi position.
Take it from there and trace back through the loom, unless it is the bulb that is faulty.
Does the high beam indicator on the dash light up? If not it would point to the problem possibly being back at connector 24.

Your lights are working normally. There is a cable you can purchase that will not only keep your low beam on but also allow you to have your auxiliary lights on with the high beams

I gotta disagree with you a little bit there since the high beam doesn't work at all. But I am interested in that cable you mentioned, wouldn't happen to have a website or part# you could point me to?
