Great write up! What did you do about the lifter ticking?

Thank you! Sounded like rear cylinder ticking so dismantled and found the lifter I used for the intake of rear cylinder would not stay pumped up, instantly bleed and piston cup moveable with a finger push. Pumping oil into the port immediately pushed out the cup. Spoke with Feuling and they sent a replacement lifter with a return shipping label that arrived Christmas Eve. Tested the new lifter and installed on the 26th to a smooth sounding motor. Excellent service from Feuling. Here it is running smooth no ticking.

Why the Hell would you buy a 30k bike just to mess it up and dump more money into a machine that is perfect from the factory? WTF is wrong with you?

Hahahaha just messing with ya'! Good for you for making it your own. You did a great job!

Awesome thread, mad skills. Wish I could work on a bike aside from routine maintenance but I still enjoy observing others and learning. Also it’s great you did all this upgrading on the standard. Excellent launch point and you save big $$ on the initial purchase. An idea that others will probably shoot down but if it were me I would buy a different trim piece for the air cleaner. Even Screaming Eagle. With all the work you’ve done and how great it must run I would leave ‘em guessing on the displacement.

Ha, thank you! We have the sickness, though cheaper than therapy I reckon.

Thank you, great to hear you enjoyed the thread. Agreed the standard is a great canvas. This standard came with RDRS and the full screen radio, still saved around $4k compared to a Special and bit more to a ST. I was thinking to go 124" but decided to go cam alone for now. I haven't done the math yet, but believe I am sitting in cost doing this all myself at around the cost of a ST.
I have been eyeing trim pieces for the air cleaner, I like the HD Kahuna but hesitant about it being mounted with velcro.

Agreed, though doubt I ever do it. They do look cool though.

Roads around here in SE MN finally looked good enough to take a couple short test loops checking things out after all the work. First impressions are very good though extremely limited time and conditions so not ready to give deeper review or thoughts. No issues found which I am excited about. Weather around here might hit 40 degrees this coming week so may get out for 100+ mile ride to learn more.

How is that pipe sounding cruising? Any drone or does it mellow out?
