Default 1997 Electra glide efi exhaust question

Looking to find out what year exhaust I can use or if it’s 97 only? Found multiple cracks in the exhaust looking to replace. Any help is appreciated thanks.

You're better off taking this to the Evo subforum: https://www.hdforums.com/forum/evo-84/

I wish I had an answer for you. I know when my Y-pipe cracked, I swapped out the headers with Paughco true duals. I like them, but I'm running them on a carb'd '90, and don't know if the MM FI on your '97 might change the equation.

Good luck to you!

Thumbs up

[QUOTE=bednarz14;21011521]

It all depends on what you are willing/able to pay.. During my cam chest upgrade, I found my Y pipe had cracked on top near where it attached to the jug, A {V} shape about the size of my thumb nail, then 2 hair line cracks one on either side of where down pipe went into the bottom of the exhaust. I took my dremel with a SS wire brush, cleaned up those areas, then took the oxy/acet. torch and did a bronze braze repair. cleaned all that up then VHT painted, cured and it was all good. Until I became sure my mods would require a TUNER. I have an 03 FLHRCI. and I wasn't about to have those poor ole pipes drilled and bung ports added in. for the 02 sensors I had ordered.
I got lucky and found a nice used set on Flea-Bay used and no rust, just mild/regular heat discoloration that had the bungs already stock off an 08. My H/D parts guy was right. the pipe I needed was on back order, got a new designation letter and the price is now over 400.00 just for that Y pipe. I'll send a link to Ronnies H/D parts They have the all exhaust part numbers but no price listed. I think that means U can't get them new. The have mine listed and the price.
All I can say is either weld it up or try contacting Fuel-Moto. I'm sure they will know which ones will work on your bike..
Check your part numbers here, it always helps helps when changing out to a part other than stock..
