Default Beach Bar Handlebar

Anyone install this handlebar on a Road King Classic. This handlebar is shown on page 458 of the 2006 HD catalog.

If you have some pics I'd like to see em' on your bike.

Thanks,

Ray (twoseas)

Ray,

Take a look at my bike in the photo gallery. They came on the bike when I bought it in April and I really like them.

Al,
Thanks for the reply ! That's a beautiful ride you got there. I don't particularly like the stock handlebar that came with my RKC. I would like something that would stretch further towards me.

The Beach Bar looks as it may suit me. I would like to see one up close and get a feel for it.

I may have to hang out at the Harley Dealer at the expense of spending some cashola while I wait for one to roll in.

I had beach bars put on my Classic. Lets you have more bend in your arm, which equals less stress in the back.

I also didn't like the stock RKC handlebars. I opted for Heritage bars to gain height and I like the style. No changing of cables either. If you do the job yourself, you'll be well off to buy a service manual as it's tricky just getting to the handlebar clamps. Harley should do it for an hour's charge.

Ray,

One thing I forgot to mention is that the throttle cable is about 1/2" too short and rubs the tank when I'm turning the handlebars pushing the bike in and out of the garage. I've never measured the bars to determine whether they are 'mini beach' or the larger beach bar. Regardless, I'm going to change the cable this winter with a slightly longer set. And its a good excuse to add a little bit more chrome.

Twoseas,
I went with the Chubbies Road King Bars. 32.5" accross with a 14" pull back. Very Comfy!!! [sm=biker.gif]
