Default Compensator Adhesive Kit

So… 60,000 miles on the 2011 Road King and time to replace the compensator sprocket… replacing f the primary chain tensioner and adding a SE clutch spring while I’m digging around in there… anyway a couple glitches popped up (as always) so my afternoon project is stretching to multiple days grrr…. The new compensators us a torx bolt instead of the tried and true hex bolts… it’s a friggen Torx70!! Who the hell has a T70? No one even sells them; now I gotta track one down… but that’s not why I’m posting this… they sell you an adhesive kit (p/n 11100088) to install the plastic oil deflector to the inside of the primary cover. What they don’t tell you is you also need p/n 11100075 which is an adapter so you can get the adhesive out…. WTF? Anybody have any ideas that will save me a trip back to the dealer? Sometimes I hate the Moco… motherf*%@=r…

I used Chem-Set DK-119. Only reason I know is because I had some left. Supposed to be used within 9 months of the date it was made so mine's quite a bit past that. Don't remember where it came from, just google that number. People use other things such as JB Weld and it would likely be fine but I didn't want to worry about it so I got the correct stuff.

thanks.., I have the adhesive… just no way to get it out of the plastic tube it comes in… that requires an additional $8 part which no one stocks… this is the Harley experience in one part…

Any automotive parts store should have that torx socket. I know you have the glue already but I've used the jb weld 10 minute epoxy a few times and it works great and it costs about as much as the part you need just to get the glue out of the hd version.

thanks… I might try the JB Weld instead of ordering the stupid caulking gun adapter for the Harley adhesive. What about the black RTV silicone? Would that work? Re: The T70… none of the auto parts or even tool dealers have anything bigger than a T60 in stock around here… Just ordered one off of Amazon so should have it by Monday… this 2 hour job just turned into a week lol… good thing it’s February and not July or Id be really pissed

The silicone isn't strong enough. The JB will work fine. I used it on mine years ago. Scuff the metal up well and clean it.

You need an epoxy like JB Weld. RTV silicon is not strong enough. Make sure to thoroughly clean both parts before applying the epoxy. Acetone works well for getting all the oil off of parts.

Lots of different JB weld epoxy… is there one that’s better for the plastic to aluminum scenario we’re talking about?
