The stock wheels on my 2015 Ultra Limited have a chromed outer ring that's developed a few areas where the chrome looks to have "bubbled". Nothing has flaked off but areas have definitely "lifted. Obviously, I'm way beyond any warranty claim so I'm wondering if it would be possible to repair and re-chrome? I know lots of stuff can be fixed, if one throws enough money at it, so has anyone actually bothered to fix, re-chrome or reasonably solve the issue?
I did read a few posts from 8 to 10 years ago from a few that were experiencing the same issue but no solutions offered other than buying new wheels......an expensive solution.
Something you might want to consider , is contacting ***** Shiny and see if they can repair , unless you have someone closer to you that can do the same . ***** Shiny can do an exchange on your rim and send you a complete chromed one , here's the site .
Price it at a local plating shop, but definitely check out ***** Shiny. Wheels and accessories are all they do. I think they have their production line down to a fine art. I bet they would have the best price.
To call HD premium is a bit of a stretch with how the chrome and paint stands up.
My bike has rarely seen any rain and after washing I dry it off but even so the paint on the front mudguard has bubbled up on the mounting bracket and some paint is missing from the bottom of the rear one on my 2017 bike.
No better and maybe worse than other makes.

Look at impress plating also, they have exchange program, I called willyshiny to order chrome lowers, he said he would call me back to let me know if he had any. sounded like a great guy, but never called me back. Impress plating made me a deal by calling them instead of ordering on line shipped out that day.
