I've been running Air Rider head sets since 2007 and my patch cords are getting iffy so I was going to order a couple new ones only to find that they are out of business. Always heard that Ed Sets were good and found they are also no longer in business. Had J&M yeas ago but they were terrible. Couldn't understand anyone and no one could understand us either. My hope is that they had different levels of quality sets and I just got a lesser quality set originally. Looking now, it looks like they only have one option and I'm reluctant to order some before I talk to someone that has them. Tried a couple set from HD and didn't find the quality was there either. Any suggestions?
I know this is not what you asked but I would suggest getting a wireless headset. You can probably assume that very soon, based on your research, they will be obsolete.

J&M had the Performance Series and the Elite Series for their Harley headsets... The performance series has been discontinued..... I had the Elite Series, purchased about 8 years ago, and they were OK. I could listen to music and my wife & I spoke via the intercom with no issues... but I wouldn't consider them a "Hi-Fidelity" speaker set...
As far as I know, it's J&M (JMC), IMC Motorcom, or Harley for plug in headsets..
FWIW....
When I take a trip and the wife stays home, I just wear a small half helmet. To listen to tunes, I have an adapter that plugs into the Harley console plug and terminates in an RCA jack. I then use a good set of ear buds to listen to music. Obviously I have no two-way comms that way, but the ear buds sound much better than speakers in my 3/4 helmet... I've often wondered if I could somehow add a set of good ear buds to my two-way comms set-up...

Is that compatible with the pre 2014 models? Would we still have the ability to use the CB as will as hear the am/fm? I'm having trouble finding any answers to these questions. It would be nice to be able to use the phone with this set up if need be.
