07 Ultra Tail Light Fuse Blows with Passenger or Luggage
Swap the blown fuse out and I have tail lights. Add luggage and a passenger, the fuse blows. All other electronics and lights are fine (I have brake lights, turn signals, front lights, etc....just not the full-time running lights). So I'm assuming there's a short and I'm also assuming it's likely due to overloading the trunk on road trips. I want to trace this short in the most efficient, logical manner possible. Has anyone traced down a similar short (tail lights)? If so, tips would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Sounds like the rear wire harness is shorting against the fender when the rear tire rubs it.
If the bike has ever been lowered, then it is a pretty common failure mode; the tire rubs through the harness and exposes the wires.

My bike is just a year older than the OPers.
Blbowers, Remove your seat. Just aft of the battery you'll see the harness that heads back to all the lights. Trace back, I'll bet at some point you'll see a worn area.
