I have a 2007 road glide that keeps stalling out on me while riding. It will bog/cut out at a steady throttle around 2200-2500rpm. When coming to a red light it will shut off when i pull the clutch in then will start back up and typically idle at 2,000 rpm for a while before coming back down. Ive noticed the RPMS dipping below 1000 at idle as well.
Ive replaced the 3 sensors on the throttle body (IAC, tps, and air temp sensor). Changed out the spark plugs. New stator and regulator as well.I am now leaning towards a fuel issue and was planning to replace the filter and the fuel pump. However, nowhere seems to have the pump in stock and it is back ordered through September.
If anyone had any suggestions or tips as to where to go from here I would greatly appreciate them.
I just bought a 07 night train, changed all fluids and plugs and went for my first ride on it. The bike ran fine when going, but coming to a stop acted the same as yours, would stall if i didnt keep feathering the throttle. Went on line and sounded like the IAC. I bought a can of throttle body spray and a new air filter and its been running great since.
My 2007 will die when rolling to a stop, seems to happen more often after riding full speeds for awhile. but not sure that means anything. Started doing it at 5k, brouught to dealer a few times. All I got was fine when we rode it,
Pull the air cleaner. At about 11 oclock posistion is a hole for IAC motor, maybe be wrong on what exactly it. Cycle the ignition on and off, you will hear the little motor. Spray cleaner in there. Do this a few times. Put some paper towel in throttle body so it doesn't go in.
First time I used brake cleaner. Now I use sensor cleaner. Not supposed to use harsh cleaner. I have to do this every 10k or so. Will notice idle start to dip a little as come to a stop. This is indication to clean.
Dealer did bump the idle up a couple hundred rpm. If you have tuner might not hurt.
I agree with this. Apparently, if there's an slight change in voltage (from wires that can't be seen and are susceptible to fretting), it will cause wonky performance. I just replaced the connector and fix my erratic throttle response.
