I'm actually quite able to dial Autozone but the two stores I have called today both have said not only don't they have it in stock but they can't even order it. It is no longer in their system.
The people you are talking to at Auto Zone are most likely young ignorant kids on a summer job, same happened to me until I found it in the small MC section next to the batteries, they had light bulbs, air filters and plugs. Wally world has it but its close to the trailer hitch and tie down section down the isle from the wax and car wash soap.
I posted this in the oil section of the forum a while back-
Two weeks ago when it was time for an oil change, I went shopping for Mobil 1. I had been driving about 18 miles over to the next small town to an Autozone for it but when I checked with them, they were out of stock and wouldn't have any for a few days.
The next day (Saturday) I went to the Autozone 1 mile from my house just for the hell of it. In the past they told me they didn't stock it but I get hard headed sometimes. It just so happened that on that day the guy who said "May I help you?" was the district manager. I told him what I was looking for. He checked inventory, showed to have 6 bottles but they couldn't find it. The district manager wasn't familiar with the store since he wasn't there on a daily basis and the teenage girl who was working there wasn't any help.
So the DM got on the phone and called around to a few other stores. Here's the trick. When he asked them to check their oil rack for Mobil 1 V-Twin 20W-50, he got the same response I had in the past, kinda like the "deer caught in the headlights" thing and a "Never heard of it" answer. Then he asked them to check for the oil by the "SKU" number and he gave them the number. Bingo, we have a winner!!! I drove to the next closest Autozone, picked up my oil and had the job done before lunch.
So it appears the thing to do is to ask for the oil by the Autozone SKU number, which is 153232. Like most of us people, our motor oil is known only as a number.
First time I went to Autozone I asked one of the employees and was told they don't have it. Second time, I asked the manager who checked the computer and found they had some in the back. I have since been in there and asked and now it is out and on a separate cart near the auto oil.

Not all Wal-Marts carry it just like I am sure not all Auto Zones carry it. The two Wal-Marts here do not stock it anymore. I taked to a guy in there and he said they used to carry it but it isn't even on their floor plan or inventory anymore. In fact I just did a search and there is one Wal-Mart out of around 7 within a 60 mile radius of here that is shown to stock it.
