The gage is a poorly calibrated instrument that's only there to drive you nuts.
But seriously, it's not accurate. Have a shop test it with a quality gage or buy/rent one.
Hahahahahaha! Nice. Ignorance is bliss... as long as the lifters stay quiet.
Ya my mechanic friend who rides old bikes, says that about my after market one . But I am a data *****.

But it changed mine has stayed the same for 70k miles. Not sure how accurate, but change would make me want to know why.
I can't say if it's "normal" but I can give 2 data points.
My 07 96 and my wife's 09 103 both react about the same. With 15-50 mobil 1 running hi way hot they will drop to pretty much 0 when we stop at the top of an off ramp. No oil lights and a blip on the throttle brings it right up.
With no change in engine noise it doesn't concern me.

The 96 and 103 have lower pressure. Guessing they changed oil pump with 96".
I edited out what I wasn't referring to.
It works with hydraulic pressure, the pressure plate gets weak with time, use and heat.
Sure. Probably all it is. Stop. But I would want to know. Stop. I got 70k on factory gauge,I think same still stop. But I didn't document it when new . Stop.
I would be tempted to just change part. Stop
To check the oil pressure, you just temporarily put a manual pressure gauge in the spot where your oil pressure sending unit is... take the readings and then reinstall the OEM oil pressure sending unit.
However with the no oil light when the pressure reads zero, and a smooth, quiet engine.... I'd just ride it... If it starts to make unusual noises, I'd investigate further..
