Default Ouch !

Well just got done detailing my flawless Black 04 Eglide. Backing it out of the garage and I clipped the corner of my F150's bumper with the top section of my right saddlebag.....oh no I don't want to look. I get off my bike hoping for just a minor surface scratch, but nope I'm Irish a gouge through the paint 1 inch in long. Went to the HD shop they said they could build up the paint wet sand and buff and it would look a lot better, bodyshop will repair for $150 and clear coat the whole bag. I'll go the HD shop first and see if it is something I can live with. First serious scratch on my Glide I've owned and babied for two years. DAMN !

yep.. sh*t happens.. what a bummer.. at least it was your bad and not your riding buddy.

Biggest problem is the time it takes to get it fixed. That's an off-season gig here in the Northeast. I'd just touch it up till winter for the fix.

What's this DE-TAIL-ING? I'm not familiar with the term.

Just kidding. That sux, man! I haven't gotten the first scratch yet. The wife suggested I scratch it myself to get it over with! I'm thinking about trading her in!

Wait 'til winter and have it fixed so you don't miss a day of ridin'. Depending where you are the season is getting short!

Sorry to hear about the accident....I'm sure it's driving you insane by now. If you're not set on getting it fixed now, you might try the HD "saddlebag lid bra kit" PN 57805-03A. It will run you $89.95 instead of $150+; will get you buy without putting the bike in the shop during prime riding season. Not the best looking things but it should cover the scratch pretty well and has a clean look to it. Just a thought.

SOOS beat me to it, you can purchase color matched saddlebag lids for less than $70....beats the hell out of $150 repair work.
