Push button will work on an 08, i have one, just have to align the latch with the slot so it will catch. Just move it a little right or left with the key in it and tighten it down where it catches.
.....so I get about 3 gal's and head to HD dealer,, $15.50 later new cap!
$15.50 for a friggin' gas cap? That's legalized robbery!! I'll do some research on it and see if an automotive one will fit the bike. Has anyone tried or found one? If so, let us know as I know you can get an automotive one for probably half price or less.
Also, does anyone know if the HD cap is vented or not? If I can find one that fits, I'll post the info on the forum.
Push button...cap on the saddle within reach as I put it under the nozzle when I finish to catch any drips, so it's in hand as I finish. No lost caps, no drips on the tank.
If a standard automotive gas cap will fit they make the caps that you do not have to remove that have a flap in the cap for the gas nozzle to fit into. That will solve the problem of ever having to remove your cap to fill up.
