I was just looking at HD's website and they've removed the Profile Laced Wheel option from the '06 Touring models. I'm curious because I ordered my new bike with them, but now it looks like they're discontinued. What's up with that? I wonder if they've had problems with them. Has anybody heard anything about this?
RE: No More Profile Laced Wheel Option for '06 Touring Models
Good observation......Just returned from York, Pennsylvania. Toured the factory and got to see the new cuctom colors. They were installing laced wheels on eglides as fast as the assembly line would move, which is about 4 to 5 feet a minute. No mention of discontinuing in the states. My Ultra is due in around December 10,2005 with the laced wheel option also. This could get interesting........
I noticed that they removed the wheel option too. I'm In the process of purchasing an '06 street glide and was checking prices yesterday when I saw it, dont know whats going on.

They are discontinued. Your dealer should have a MOCO bulletin on this.
Went to the dealer today and asked about the Profile wheels. He told me that the MOCO removed them from the option list because they cannot meet the demand. If you ordered a bike before they pulled the option, you should be okay, but if not, you'll have to spend a lot more money to buy aftermarket wheels until they get the supply back up. I'm glad I ordered when I did!
