i'm looking for a set of fairing mount mirrors to install on my 06 ultra.... i cant find the item in the harley catalog -- how much do they run? i'm assuming they're pretty easy to install.... just remove the outer fairing, drill, and mount on the inner fairing?
Friend of mine put a set on... After a week or so... Re-Installed his regular ones back on... According to him - They could not be adjusted enough and they vibrated like crazy on the road...
I'm 6'4 w/ a muscular frame and kinda have wide shoulders..... i rode a street glide w/ fairing mount mirrors and couldnt see anything, but when i switch lanes i always look back anyway..... heck i can barely see much outta the bar mount ones either so i figured why not
I have them on my bike, and while they do not give as much of a view of what is behind you (it is tough to see what is directly behind you) I like the cleaned up look enuff that I out up with the minor inconvenience.
Kuryakyn is supppose to have a fairing mounted mirrors available in Aug according to their Web site. I am going to give them a try if they are available. The are adjustable for a wider view for us big guys and also work with your turn signals. They use a template for anything other than a Street Glide. Looks like they will be nice in chrome. I will shop around and look to find them cheaper than the 199.00.
Performance Machine has a real nice pair of chrome billet fairing mounted mirrors that are a direct replacement for the stock Street Glide mirrors and can be mounted to any Electra Glide Dresser. I bet they are alittle on the pricey side compared to the long awaited Kuryakyn mirrors but like the ol' saying goes, you get what you pay for. You can check them out on PM's web site, Putt
