Has anyone had the problem with the vents blowing closed on the Ultra lowers? The right one on my 2005 will not stay
open. I have tightened the bolt, to the point I am afraid of breaking something. Any ideas?
I just installed vented lowers on my bike,i noticed my left one will closed one click, right one seems fine,i havent tightened anything yet,but im going to now, thought it was just mine, good question. i'll have to keep an eye on mine
Ok, thanks for the input. I went out last evening and got my socket set out, and tightened it up until it stayed open and took a some force to close it. I figured what the hell it I broke it I would just take the vent part out. But it seems to be better, haven't ridden it yet, but will today...
I put black wire ties around the top of the vent and routed the ends into the glove box on the lowers. On end over top of glove box (inside lower) and the other end up through the bottom near the front. Zip the two ends together until the loop is snug, snip off the excess and your done. You can barely see the wire tie at the top of the lower vent and it does not clutter up the glove box. Takes 5-10 minutes and you can zip ties together to make a long tie if you only have short ones.
When winter comes, snip the wire tie and throw it away.
