Wild Bill has the best answer, but FLFOOL has my favorite, and I think that if more people would go that extra distance and take that approach, the world would be a safer place.

On 2 wheels, you ain't gonna win. Sometimes turning around and looking at a tailgater will get them to back off. I used to carry about a 3/4" nut nylon tied to my handlebar for tailgaters. Pop it off and toss over the shoulder. Then one day I wanted 2 of them so I started tying 2 on the handlebar. Then one day, I wanted 3, and I decided that I just didn't need to do that anymore.

I am no help here at all.... I have a weak character flaw on this one.... and I have got to learn what you others are saying... as I too try to control my space and, and have expectations on what is right and what is not..... After a trip to Tucson this weekend I was thinking about getting out my ballpeen hammer..... Then I came back to reality and realized this is no place to take revenge.....

DrHess, I used to carry a leather bag on the handlebars with a handfull of 3/8" ball bearings, only used a couple once but I think it saved my butt from a carload of drunk teenagers chasing me at high speed. Slowed them up real quick.

Although I sometimes find myself doing the same thing, moving up to keep maniacs like this out of your lane is a BIG mistake.

You are not going to get this guy to slow down and drive more carefully. That just aint going to happen. So would you rather have this guy driving like that behind you or in front of you? There is no reasonto put yourself in harms way, and if an accident were to happen you could be held partially at fault.

I used to get all bothered by these people. Ya know what has helped me stay cool and get out of the way? I try to imagine a reason I would be driving like that.

What if this guys mother just fell down the stairs and can't get up? What if his ex-wifes neighbor called to tell him his ex's new husband just beat his daughter? Maybe he was just offered the "Job of a Lifetime" and he has to take his **** test before the clinic closes?

The bottom line is getting out of the guys way is the best thing to do overall. For you, for other drivers around you, and yes, even for this idiot.

I'm certainly not sticking up for people that drive like this.Try to keep in mind:

"Nobody looks out for your best interest better than you."

Change lanes and get away from those idiots... I generally have no trouble with people doing that but if they do i move over and get them out and away from me.

Most stealers sell HD motorcycle boots with a metal HD logo fastened with screwsto the side of the heels. Works well for venting ...

Funny you brought this up today. The same thing happened to me on Saturday. Heavy traffic moving along at about 65 in the left lane and less than a car length apart and some POS decides to cut right in front of me at 65. He missed me by about 2 feet. I swing next to him and yell over what the he!! he's doing. The scumbag POS swerves his f** car right at me!!! I swerved to the right and he missed me by about a foot! Then he gives me the finger and takes off like the little pu$$y he is. I was too pizzed to get the plate #, not that I think the cops would have done anything anyway. Honest to god, I think about carrying something on the bike that I could throw threw their window but I fiugre they're not worth me going to jail.

There are some real POS out there on the road.
