I have a feeling that a lot of these idiots dont even have bikes they just have the stickers because they think it makes them look tough.

Ya got that right. I find that at least once on every weekend ride, Ipull up next to orbehind a car with a kid that thinks bikes are the coolest thing and love to waive.

You never knowwho's on crack, or some other drugs the way they drive. Some of these people are psyco and believe they are invincible.I've done my best not to flip them off anymore. It doesn't do anything to promote our great sport.

Now I make it a point to waive to the little kids in the carsand watch their faces brighten up and smile while they waive back. That does more for me than anything else. Kidslove to waive to bikers.

Seriously though, when I'm riding, I am in my own world. I want to relax, take in the moment, ride free. Of course, I try to be aware of my surroundings, drive defensively, etc. But the fact remains; when a speeding cager approaches, driving aggressively or erratically, he is most likely in his own world. The last thing on his mind is givingme the space I need to remain in my comfort zone. When worlds collide, it doesn't take a mental giant to figure out who wins. These types of battles are best avoided at all costs. My advice: choose your battles! Don't try to re-write the laws of physics. Even though you may feel like Superman while riding, your world will definitely come crashing down around you if attempt tangle with a two-ton cage. Save yer aggression for more constructive pursuits, like fighting with yer stealer for that free t-shirt! Equally as futile? Perhaps, but much safer in the long run. Just my humble opinion. Ride safe, ride hard, ride free. Live to ride another day.

When driving in the Chicago area you have to constantly be on your guard. I take Bills advice most of the time but occasionally I will add the following addition, if I get their plate # I will call the police when I get home and report them as a wreckless driver. Then I turn on my scanner and the dispatch will broadcast their plate along with their address. Then I write them a nice letter and let them know how I really feel. If it was a kid I will go over to their house and have a long talk with their parents and let them know I reported their kid to the cops. Then when the kid comes home and sees you at their house the look on their face is PRICELESS.

I like the oil squirter idea. I've thought of that before. I have an Esprit Turbo. If I added a oil catch bottle on the PCV vent hose, a common mod in turbocharged cars, I could run a drain line down to a windshield washer pump going to a small tube exiting out the back. It is amazing that a-holes will tailgate you regardless, and one little squirt would do a nice job if it aimed up at their windshield. Anyway, I'd have to find a place to mount the catch bottle, and that isn't very easy.

I'm pretty sure Georgia has a concealed carry permit thing in place. Most (reasonable) states do now.

When I have a tailgater, regardless of the vehicle I'm in or on, I slow down for even more space between me and the next car. For one thing, you now have to drive for two people, you and the idiot behind you. So, if something comes up, you need extra room to slow down more slowly (2nd derivitive) so the idiot doesn't rear end you. I just let them go around. They invariably start tailgating the next car in front. Like all that is going to get them to work 2 minutes faster, as they put their life (that I care darned little about at that point) and my property and life (that I do care about) and other's lives and property (that I also care about) at risk.

With all the meth around, you never know what is in that other car. It is pretty scarry. I came home one day in the Esprit and got to the last corner on the dirt road I live on and some guy in a truck pulled in front of me and blocked my way. He was gestering for me to move, then took a swig from a whiskey bottle in a paper bag. I took the 9mm out and jacked a round in the chamber. He got out of the truck and came over to my window and tried to get me to come out of the car. I think he saw Mr. 9 mike mike and backed off and moved his truck and I went the 200 ft to my driveway, glad I didn't have to cap him. Had I seen a weapon, it would have been quite different, and I really don't want the paperwork challenge. His pupils were huge. Near as I can figger, he was on meth and whiskey. He had just tried the same thing on a neighbor woman up the road, and before that he took out a section of barb wire fence. I reported him to the sheriff, but never heard anything about it. Never saw him again either. He was probably coming back from one of the meth labs on our road or looking for one.

Dr:

We are a fan of the 45, the muzzle looks as big a a 55 gallon drum, when you are poiting it at someone, however the 9mm is a nice companion for an afternoon of social discussions.

With my pickup.....I have a cinder block tied to a string underneath the bed. The end of the string goes into the cab of the truck. I have used this on numerous occasions.....this one was the best though....

Driving on this two lane high behind a slow going semi. There was no way I could pass. This lady in her late model red sedan was on her cell phone and right behind me. She was so close that I could not see the her headlights, nor the grille. It was also a little dark outside as well. I tried slowing down/speeding up.....she was always right there. It was tolerable....but I was getting pissed that her lights were on bright. Anyways, I got tired of it and released the string....then the cinder block down it went. She immediately stopped and I kept on going.

I was later pulled over and was questioned about the block in the road. I stated that I saw the block and I straddled it with my truck. I told him that the lady behind shouldn't have been following so close or she would have seen and avoided the block. Cop said she had extensive damage done to her car. I bet she does not follow as close anymore.

There is a block under the bed today.....and ready for action.

As for the bike......I ride the Electra Glide. So there are lots of room for toys like ball bearings. My windshield bag always has a few ball bearings in them ready for action. However, I usually turn around and give them a "Backoff dumbass look." That usually works....however when it does not work.....ball bearing time.

20 years ago.....I never did these things. People drove alot nicer and friendlier back then. The road is dangerous and full of azzholes. I have to admit.....probably in the past five years, I have torn up alot of vehicles since then.

I have noticed that in general and for the most part......when they become engaged on their cell phone, they become unaware of how close they are actually following.

I really hate tailgaters!!!!!!!![:@]

NC, I'm a big .45 fan also (I have 3), however, I went with the 9's for vehicle carry because I think the 9's have better car door penetration. One of those AK pistols would be great, but they are a bit large to conceal.

EVOrider, you're bad. Don't give me such ideas.
